My name is Stephanie Montelongo, pronouns are she/her/ella. I was born in Durango, Mexico but have been calling Oklahoma City my home for the past 22 years of my life. I am a freelance filmmaker and photographer who believes that the act of storytelling is the inspiration for change. I am drawn to stories which reflect culture, community, and individual perspectives. My work reflects who I am and what I love. My work has an intent on telling the truth. Passionate about social change, I believe my job as an artist is to use my voice and my work to create the world we want to see. Growing up as an undocumented immigrant woman of color has always instilled in me a strong sense of awareness. This guides everything I do, whether it be with a camera or without.
